Upon killing the trapped tiger in the woods, Zerynthia encounters a Greek hunting party returning to camp. Deciding to have a little bit of fun and needing some excitement to distract her from the rather gloomy deed she had committed, Zerynthia rides headlong into the hunting party...injuring a number of men and taking an arrow in her shoulder for her brash actions. Nothing too serious

: says to ALL:.... The loud sound of hunting horns would ring out through Agora Forest as a Greek hunting party returns to Agia with fresh kills for the night's meal.

: says toALL:.... -As she mounted up and rode away from the clearing, not taking the same route used in arriving here, Z made off to the north west, back toward the Rora river which now acted as some unofficial border between the Greeks slowly encroaching to the south and the Amazons inhabiting the west. Zerynthia knew of the mountain and had brief encounters with the warriors, but not all within the Nation are sisters or immediately recognize their similarities upon meeting. Zerynthia was not very likeable and so her contact with the mountain tribe was rather limited. So long as she stayed out of their way, they didn't go out theirs to slay her. It was while riding that she would catch the sounds of the horn, knowing what it signified and immediately she slowed her progress through the forest, listening once again for further indication of where it was coming from. "Figures", she thought to herself, "I should not of wasted so much time."-

: says to • Zerynthia • Rogue Amaz:.... As you listened you would note that the horns were between you the camp, coming from the direction of the Rora River...the damn Greeks were going further and further inland to both scout and hunt. They had only minute skirmishes with Queen B'andit... but nothing to make them believe they couldn't completely own this Island...as long as the damn Romans stay out of their way.

Beware Greek Patrols
: says toALL:.... -To her annoyance the horns came from the north, where she was heading toward. Without knowing precisely how many were in the hunting party, Zerynthia was at a disadvantage. Although it paid to be cautious, she considered riding in blind, charging in and quickly charging off. Why not? With a smirking grin she continued through the trees, keeping to a casual pace as she listened for some indication of how far the party was...and perhaps their numbers. If it was a small enough band she would give it a go, and as she continued toward the river Zerynthia's hand flexed around her spear still held in her left hand. Changing her grip on the weapon's shaft she would use it to attack before switching to her bow upon loosing the spear on whoever she sighted first.-

Beware Greek Patrols
: says toALL:.... -Riding closer and closer toward the on coming hunting party, Zerynthia soon paused in the foliage, remaining stationary as slowly but surely the group of men emerged from the woods one by one. The men were on foot, soldiers of low rank who were sent out to hunt for themselves more often than not as rations were costly. Between the group totaling 8 strong, burly Greeks they carted wild boar and deer killed in the excursion which saw the hunting parting striking deep into the forest. Watching and waiting as the men came closer into view, talking cheerfully amongst themselves while keeping a close eye on the forest, Zerynthia caught something of their conversation. The most significant words caught from the jumble of otherwise unintelligible banter being the phrase, "Golden One". Something about the discussion was lively, full of excitement that the men for some reason shared. Their excitement and optimism was palpable to an outsider such as her waiting in ambush, and the confidence the men showed as they wandered back to their camp deeply troubled Zerynthia. No longer did they seem so cautious and fearful, and with each step taken as they came closer and closer into view, Zerynthia tensed in the saddle, her hand wrapping around her spear as she formulated how she would proceed. Who would be her first target?-

Beware Greek Patrols
: says toALL:.... -Deciding on the largest of the men who was a long haired, bearded brute, Zerynthia lifted her spear javelin style in her left hand. Her dark gaze leading the target as he lumbered along the path cutting through the trees, and passing before her position, Z timed her movements precisely so that when he came into range...the spear shot from her hand as she surged forward in her saddle, putting adequate strength and thrust behind the throw. Her throw was not as powerful as it had been if she were on foot, but it was propelled with enough speed and strength that the weapon upon breaching the treeline, sliced through the air and caught the large Greek in the midsection. How deep or badly the wound she had no way of telling and immediately afterward as the sound of alarm was raised by the men, Zerynthia sprang into action, charging from the trees with her bow drawn. Taking aim at the men even in such close range, her bow was still effective and deadly...deadlier still in the hands of a mounted Amazon who had perfected the tactic with greater skill and effect than any other culture..save perhaps the fierce tribes of the Steppes. Capitalizing on the initial shock of the attack where the men had not immediately drawn into any organized formation, Zerynthia struck with ferocious speed, notching and releasing her arrows in a span of mere seconds. Together such a group of archers would be almost impossible to defeat, but on her own as she was, she had only the element of surprise to truly tip the odds in her favor. At least for the first few moments. Charging through the group, sending the men scattering, their game discarded in favor of their weapons as the skirmish continued, the horn was blown by one of the men in a series of loud drawn out notes meant to alert the nearby camp of their distress. Without wheeling her horse around Zerynthia after charging and bumping a couple of the men aside, turned on her horse, firing arrow after arrow from the seemingly awkward position. Catching one man in the leg, another in the shoulder, she had in total injured 4 of the nine men, and as they raced after her...with realizing she was on her own, Zerynthia soon gave up the attack in favor of a swift retreat. Howling joyously in response to the cursings the men roared at her, many of them challenging her to stand and fight, she paid them little heed and continued into the trees once more. However, just before disappearing after her brief skirmish, a number of arrows were let loose by the returning hunters whose bows were effective now that she was further away. Ducking low against the neck of her mount, she attempted to avoid being hit, but was soon struck in the shoulder by an arrow. Issuing her own painfilled cry in response Zerynthia simply charged ahead, continuing her retreat with the arrow now embedded in her shoulder. She should of strapped her shield to her back, but she had thrown caution to the wind...deciding for a swift confrontation rather than taking into account every precaution. Slumping in the saddle she urged her mount on to greater speeds, putting as much distance between herself and the wounded men now regrouping and perhaps seething now...desiring her blood. Unbeknownst to her one of the men continued the pursuit, dashing madly after her despite the urgings of his comrades to forget the woman and the affront.-
